line of research tech for good

Social innovation can be defined as any solution aimed at addressing a social problem in a new and impactful way. Over the last years, new digital technologies have been increasingly employed to produce social innovations, which have the ability to reach a broad number of people and to be easily scalable and replicable.

The Yunus Social Business Centre is developing a line of research aimed at exploring the impact of new technologies for social innovation, with a particular focus on the social enterprises which employ new technologies to reach their social mission. The objective is to define the main features that characterise this kind of hybrid organizations, their access to external financing and their impact on society.
