BACKGROUND AND GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Social-Mission Platforms pursue social mission objectives, exploiting digital platforms’ ability to create connections among different kinds of actors. Under this category we can also find Platform Cooperatives, in which decision-making rights are divided among all the participants, to ensure the interests of all the parties involved are safeguarded. The objective of this research area is to explore how digital platforms’ characteristics display when social impact objectives are included in the mission.
